Homemade Pizza (using Simple Mills)

I am ALL about simple recipes that are yummy, satisfying, hearty and made with REAL and carefully chosen ingredients. Simple Mills brand makes a variety of stuff - crackers, baking mixes, cookies, and a make-your-own pizza dough - you can buy at Whole Foods, most grocery stores, online… check out their website here. After discovering this crust I have made it many times and love that I can add my own toppings and make it as versatile as I want! All you need in addition to the crust is apple cider vinegar and oil, common staples in most households (though I did have to go buy ACV).

This particular night - my friends and I made this pizza crust topped with the following ingredients:

  • One box of Simple Mill’s Pizza Dough

  • 2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 6 tbsp water

  • Trader Joe’s kale pesto (another great buy!,

  • Mozzarella cheese (as much as you want)

  • Mushrooms

  • Tomatoes

  • Spinach topped

  • Seasoned with red pepper flakes, salt and pepper

The toppings can be whatever you like - extra veg, extra cheese, some meat! And the best part is that this crust is made with 8 INGREDIENTS - Almond Flour, Arrowroot, Flax Meal, Cauliflower, Baking Soda, Organic Oregano, Cream of Tartar, Organic Garlic (all that you can pronounce). It comes out nice and thin and doesn’t fall-apart like the cauliflower alternatives. It has a nice texture to it. It’s definitely not New York or New Jersey style pizza … but it is an easy staple to keep on hand for busy nights and lazy dinners.
